"Don’t press charges." That was the only thing he said before he grabbed the woman, and kissed her, just as his ex walked by. It was definitely one of the stupider things he had done.

-

"Thank you." He was glad that was out of the way. It made him feel better. He had to give her a lot of credit, she wasn’t letting this situation get to her. And the fact that she seemed to enjoy his company, well, that was a relief.

"Chinese it is." He pulled out his phone, he’d have his driver come, as he doubted there was anywhere within a few block radius. "Yeah, business. I don’t get to come here as often as I used to." He admitted. He lost a lot of business in English-speaking countries.

She smiled softly to him, she was very much enjoying his company — despite what had happened. Jamie watched him fiddle around with his phone, smiling some to him. “That’s rather sad. I’m — I’m sorry about your troubles with Hammer Industries.” Yes, the girl was very aware of that whole bag.

She decided not to talk bout that anymore, taking a deep breath she gave him another smile. “Can I — hold your hand, sir?” she managed to ask. It wouldn’t hurt to ask, right? That and she /wanted/ to, she might not have the chance to again.

Justin shook his head. He had really hoped to avoid that whole mess, but it was inevitable that it would be brought up at some point. “That’s all in the past. Everything is fine now. No troubles.” While that wasn’t completely true, it wasn’t exactly a lie.

"W—what? Oh. Uh, sure." He wasn’t exactly sure why she would want to hold his hand. He even had to look around to make sure his ex wasn’t making a third round. He held out his hand for her. He wasn’t sure why he felt so awkward. "My driver should be here in a few minutes and we can go to whichever Chinese place you’d like."

She turned back and hit the button again, a quick snake of light branched out along her jaw before disappearing. “I’m just not gonna stand here and take that shit from anyone, especially you” she said flatly.

"It had nothing to do with you. You’re the one over reacting." He said with a scoff. He definitely feared for his life for a few seconds, but that had passed. "You can play tough all you want, but let’s be honest. This isn’t about you. This isn’t about me. It’s about the truth. One day, maybe it’ll come out. Who knows. I don’t. Let’s just get these things off and we can go back to our lives, hm?"

She only nodded to him. “I accept your apology then.” she replied, her fingers fiddling nervously with the ends of her dress. Jamie wasn’t much on dating — she couldn’t recall the last time she actually was with company regardless of the situation. It had been /that/ long. Atop this — this was the Justin Hammer; it only made her a bit more nervous.

Lets — let’s go for Chinese then. Simple enough.” the Londoner replied, looking over her shoulder. She thought for a long moment, trying to think of something else to talk about other than the situation that had happened previously only moments before. “What brings you here? Business?”

“Yeah, but at least Tony had his mind on more than just that..he at least

cared enough about the people who his weapons affected.” She said and looked down at the floor. “Obediah was dealing under the table, and who’s gonna trust a weapons manufacturer if they do that?”

"Only after his own weapons nearly killed him. If you don’t see that as selfish, well, you’re blind." He looked at her. He was getting at her, he could see. "No one would have known if it wasn’t for Tony going over to Afghanistan. Stark Industries was doing incredible while Obadiah was at the reigns. I don’t know if anyone else could reach that level of success these days."

"You know what, maybe I am" she slammed her hand against the shut off switch for the elevator, "maybe I’m fucking blind Justin" she hissed. "So what it was after his own bomb nearly killed him? Ever think for a second that it was just a wake up call for him? Unlike you, I don’t immediately look for the selfishness in people. I don’t look for a reason to belittle them, or try to make myself top dog." She felt her skin getting hot. "I can assure you. Tony would have been captured, blown up or not. Obediah ordered the hit. And you know what? They would have done the same damn thing to him. So don’t you stand there and tell me he’s fucking selfish. When all you did was copy his suit for your own fucking benefit!" Her eyes flashed over with a quick orange flare in her pupils as she glared at him. "You better check your record, Justin, before you start calling people out on their own."

Justin moved back as far as he could manage, being stuck in a small space with her and attached to her wasn’t exactly helping. Was it getting warm in here? It seemed like it… “Whoa, whoa. Settle down Miss Temper Tantrum.” Perhaps using humor as a defense mechanism wasn’t in his best interest right now, but he didn’t know anything else. “Don’t take everything so personally. I know you’ll never understand my intentions, but you don’t need to get so hot headed.

"Now?" He thought for a moment. It wasn’t as if he had anything else to do. He did have an early morning meeting, but they probably wouldn’t be out too late. "Uh, sure. Now works for me, as long as it works for you." He didn’t want to be very intrusive. He’d already violated her.

"Is there someplace you like? Or somewhere you’ve never been? It’s up to you. It’s my apology to you." He’d let her control the night. It was just being funded by him.

Now.” she repeated his words. She hadn’t any plans for the evening to begin with; she didn’t have class at university tomorrow morning and her flower shop wasn’t open either. “I’m free for the night actually.” Jamie replied with a shy smile.

She thought for a long while, thinking his offer over. “Well I’m fond of Chinese or Italian. Unless you’d prefer catching a flick or something?” she offered some options to him. “You don’t have to apologize you know, I’m not upset over it.” Jamie gave Hammer a reassuring — yet sheepish smile.

"Considering I invaded your personal space like that, I think I do owe you a proper apology." He returned the smile. "I want to apologize, anyways. Even if you don’t think I need to." He thought for a moment, but he really didn’t want to make the decisions here.

"Whatever you want. Whatever would make your evening enjoyable." He couldn’t help but feel guilty about what he had done. He was lucky that she was so kind towards him and had actually liked him. Well, his media personality, he supposed. Not many people actually knew him. And if they did, like was not the word one would use.

"Oh please, after seeing your stocks, There’s not much embarrassment in this" she scoffed and lead him to the elevators. How could she even begin to think how she got into this? And with him of all people? She’d rather be latched to a monkey. At least they can be a little bit warmer, instead of so cold shouldered.

"Oh, gosh, look at you, aren’t you so clever and witty with your overused jokes." He said, rolling his eyes like a teenage girl. "At least I pay my shareholders dividends, unlike some people.” He knew that anger wasn’t going to get them very far, but it’s not like she could kick him out right at the moment, so he may as well get it all out while he can.

"Ooh, but we can
afford to pay.” She snarked back. “And for your information, since I have taken over, we are paying them. And getting due credit for it. Thank you very much” she seethed, her voice like venom. “Stain didn’t do much for the company’s interest.”

"Obadiah had only the company in mind. I suppose that’s why things turned out the way they did." He said, making a slice motion across his throat. "Y’know, with him kicking the bucket and all." He’d never let anyone else run his company. He could only trust himself. Anyone else would have ulterior motives.
